Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups self-raising wholemeal flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar 
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 100 g pitted dates (chopped) 
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

Sauce

  • 1 cup boiling water 
  • 1 tbsp non-dairy butter
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk 
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar 
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 

Recipe

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  2. Add almond milk until dough like consistency.
  3. Place in lightly oiled dish.
  4. Prepare sauce by combining all ingredients and stirring until smooth. 
  5. Add sauce to dish. 
  6. Cook for 25 minutes in the oven. Serve with coconut cream
